Aggressive Kids:my son plays with dolls!!

We went to the toy shop a few days ago and my son insisted on buying a doll. I refused, and he started crying. a few days later he came home with his friends a girl doll and hes been playing with it ever since. Should i be worried or is it normal for small boys to play with dolls?

would you rather your son turned into a chauvinistic, narrow minded, stereotypical man, who is out of touch with the nurturing side of his personality?
if he is looking for dolls to play with, it simply means that he is looking for something/someone to play with/pamper... if you are really paranoically worried, maybe you should consider having another baby!! that way he would be able to express all this emotion in an 'acceptable' manner, what???
enjoy!

Why r u getting so worried. It is o-kay. It is just a phase. Your son will grow out of it. Just be normal and dont argue or discourage him.

Hey Varunna

I am shocked that you are appalled at your son wanting to play with dolls. Cant you see it as your child id actually imagining the doll to be some kind of baby or is simply fascinated with something that looks like a doll. Please dont go and bring up your son according to gender biases - not now and not in the future cos there will be some lil girl out there who will suffer tomorrow when you son grows up and marries her and believes that she can only do certain things and he the other few! Thats not fair! I have a friend who has 2 sons aged 3 and 7 and they do just about every work of theirs cos they have to know how to handle their lives when they grow up is how their mother feels! They should be able to help their wives around the house and the kitchen and outside too! I think that makes a lot of sense!
