I have a son who is 8 months old.. and my breast milk has reduced now.. but my son insists on being fed before sleep, he sleeps only and only when i am feeding him.. i am worried since he needs to be fed for quite a long time .. around half an hour..and i want to start weannig him from breast milk slowly ..also during the nights, he wakes up after every 2 hrs and i cannot fulfill his hunger thru breast milk now..

How shud i start weaning my baby from breast milk ? what food shud i give him so that he can sleep without waking up very often at night ?

Hello,

First of all try to put sleep without breasfeeding...first time he will cry let him cry...don't panic. after some days he will get in habit to sleep without breastfeeding. In night time also let him cry....he will go to sleep apparently. This is advice most of the doctors gives. You can ask your doctor.

hi pallavi,

thnx for the advise.. i shall try to follow it.. but these days.. my mum puts him to sleep and he sleeps proerply but when i try to put him to sleep without feeding he makes a big fuss..

anyway as u say .. i shall be patient and try this technique

Subject:  Cant get him to get off my feed



Hi,

I am facing the same problem. My 15 month old son just wont sleep without my feed and wakes up every 2 hours at night . He is on bottle feed thru the day, has his regular meals and even if he has his cup full of milk at 11...will insist on my milk at 11.30 just so he can doze off. I am very stressed because of this and people around me can fugure out why i am making such a big deal. Trust me, if my family had thier way...i would still be feeding him when he comes back from a game of basket ball!!Because according to them "he needs to feel close to me". Help me. My maid says to apply neem on my nipples. Do you think its acceptable?
