Hi Manoj,

I have few suggestions, offcourse do contact the DOCTOR before :

1. Get a thorough ENT test which must include HEARING test. It could be that he can hear but not clearly so the picture does become clear in mind.

2. Ask the ped. if u could give him FISH OILS. There are OMEGA 3 capsules available by chemist offcourse u could try them for your child with DOCTOR'S PRESCRIPTION.

Best of Luck

Manoj
2 years ago we were also in the same boat
Our only son did not speak at all besides few words, and he had lot of problem in the school because in USA social skill is most important, Then we consult with his doctors .He recomended us to go for screening. afetr screening they put him in a intervention program which start at the age of 3 yrs old and it helped him a lot
Now this year he will be 6 yrs old and will be going to the first grade, still he has little problem about some words
But he is doing well about other area like He is a good reader and he has very good visual skills so a very good puzzle solver, We read everyday for him.
The only diierence was with your child is that he was very quite . So donot worry, everything will be alright, only you need to do your jobs, like play with him, talk a lot with him, donot give anything untill he asks, and go to your pediatrics first.

Hi soma
Thanks for your reply.
As you said, v've heard that there are children who have delayed in speech and behavior, but when it come to own child naturally parents would get worried. After having checked with both neurologist and ayurvedic Dr. came to know there is a small cyst in his brain, which blocks his development but no need to b operated or worry, it will become normal as he grows.. but yet at 4 when he doesn't speak or is normal when compared to the age of 4 yr child makes us more sad.
As u said v are spending more time with him and keep him happy and now v are more understand able than b4 about his actions and does things as he needs.
At present taken a decision to take him to daycare where his mom will accompany with him until he gets mingles with other children and hope for the best.
Once again thanks for your reply, which gave some relief and peace.

my son is 2 and is not speaking.so with his doctors advice iam sending him to daycare.he was upset for the first whole month .he used to cry so much but it is better not to give up.because any way they have to go to school and and get used to the schedule.when he play with the kids of his own age he will surely talk. because i can see improvement in my kid.after a mont of crying now he is playing with the gids there.and if you dont see any improvement after a mont or two then take him to peech therapist again.and my husband home town is aluva.

Thanks for reply.
i agree to ur suggestion of sending my son to daycare and i did, but on the 4th day had a call fr school saying that ur son lying down with no response and eyes wide open and when v reached, v too were shocked and took to dr and after he gave some medicine only he came to normal and dr said he got more depressed by sending him to daycare and he cannot express so only happened like this and advised not to send and to take to speech therapy, he does not sits and cries so v dont want to take another risk so stopped and now requested to daycare and got permission so that my wife too will sit with him for a month in daycare and make him get used to the place and then slowly make him to mingle with others.
happy to know that u r fr kerela, at the same time want to know, did u showed ur son to any neurologist and who is the best in cochin or aluva ?
presenlty v r showing to neurologist, dr.moosa in amirtha hosiptial in edapally

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
