Speech:22 months not talking

My 22 month old daughter not really started talking. She points to everything that she needs. And we get/do it for her. She has no problem with hearing. She runs towards the TV if some familiar music comes up even if she plays in other room. She used to say \";amma\"; \";kakka\"; (malayalam - crow )till sometime back after we tell her. She does not seems to listen these days. But she talks her own words for many things (fan , book and all - with all sound elements - phonems ) or shouts pointing to the objects she needs. She understands whatever we say and does it. sometimes she just ignores what we say. Just wondering what could be done.. She meets all her needs thru gestures and actions. Is that the reason she does not try to speak ? We have not yet told this to her ped seriously. We hope since she utters all phonems she would be able to speak.

Hai raji,
I dont say not to worry but take this matter seriously and take her to neurologist and have a detail consultation. u r on the same boat as v r now and now my son is 4yrs and yet does not speak a word and rest of his behaviour is as ur daughter. if u r in cochin, i can suggest the neurologist to whom v take and in our son, after scan he said he has small cyst in brain blocking his speech and behaviour and for that v should make him to mingle with children so plan to put him daycare and if u have any day care then u can also try in that way or if u have same age kids in ur friends, relatives or in neighbourhood allow her to mingle with them and when they talk she will also try to talk this was said to us and v r taking him fr tomorrow and hope for the best and wish u the best and at last no need to worry much everything will b all right. to ur knowledge our son walked at 3 years and v were very much worried and now v r taking steps to make him talk. bye

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Shoranur kerala samajam Ayurveda hospital review
Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
