Hi everyone,
Im new at india parenting and think this site is great. I would like to share my views with all of you. Im an expat who just relocated back to india a while back. My hubbys the md of a mnc and he travels a lot. We moved from the US and I used to teach at a child care centre there. I have seen and read a lot of views from many people one of the main topics being should you put your child through early education ? is it really necessary ? etc etc. In context to this, is my post of real life experience.
My first born is now 7 years and goes to adhiti my later born is 14 months and goes to this fantastic centre called Gymbaroo at indiranagar. My opinion as a young parent is that early child hood learning is CRITICAL to what your child grows upto be. In the US the importance given to kinder care and early child learning is phenomenal. It is all done in a systematic and scientific methodology. Unfortunately in India this seems to be blantantly ignored. I have come across and seen many nurserys, pre-schools carrying on in garages, outhouses etc. This in my opinion is not right. Even a pre-school must have a proper curriculum to teach, it must have proper scientific methodology, it must have a proper focus and plan, as this directly influences how the child behaves and grows up. My son sailed through in Aditi without a single issue, in fact he was out of the initial interview in flat 30 minutes which actually made me panic thinking he hadnt got done thouroughly. However upon being called for his admission his teacher shared with me the fact that he was amazing and whizzed past. This is a direct influence upon his pre school [he went to kangaroo kids at RMV extension], This factor has been the key reason as to why i ad my daughter go for Gymbaroo's parent child interaction programe which again is showing excellant results on her.

I really appreciate that you wrote this.My child is 3 years old and have been home so far.I plan to start montessorri at 3 1/2?IS it too late?I am also based in US?Whcih part of US were you from?Also please tell me about kangaroo kids.I will be staying at RMV extension when we move to b;lore.so pls give me the contact info.

i agree on your views of early childhood learning, my son also goes to kangaroo kids and my husband and me are both really happy with the centre. they most certainly are doin a fab job. does your daughter go to their rmv centre or indiranagar ?
