Due Date Club December 2007:Strech marks

This has been a big question to me. I am in my 6th month and have increased 12 Kgs. There are strech marks that are noticeable on different parts of my body, they are very dark and look very awful on the skin. Does anyone have the same problem or have solution to this?
If yes how are you trying to get rid of it?

Please suggest.

Hi again,
Getting rid of stretch marks is definitely difficult but definitely not impossible. My doctor suggested me to apply \" Pregnacream\" twice a day. I see the results to be frank and its working for me. But before you goahead buy and apply do consult your doctor too. Only she knows you better than us because they say every pregnant woman is different from the other one.

And yes coconut/olive oil massage followed by warm water bath helps to relax and soothe and also they say to an extent helps in getting to avoid those awful marks. But donot try so many oils and combinations, what works for others is not comsulsory to work for you too. And do keep away from aroma oils as all are not advisable for pregnant woman.

Thanks to you all for the suggestions. I have the Vitamin- E oil and have been applying it twice a week. I will look for olive and other oils soon now.
Thanks again.

Hi Viju,

Little things about s marks -
1- don' t scratch your abdomen, this will increase your s marks.
2- apply any oil which will keep your skin moisturised...The more oily are better though. I made a mix of almond oil, sesame oil (til oil - very good for skin), olive oil and a little bit of navaratna oil for the good smell.
3- apply as many times as possible. You will notice that your skin literally absorbs all the oil you apply within mins.
4- A good massage is needed. It helps not only ur skin, also makes your baby very comfortable. Always a mothers touch can do magic....
Good Luck with it dear...Better start it off now.
Jyothi.

Hi Viju,

I am also in my 6th month. Getting rid of stretch marks fully is not possible. But you can try olive oil. When I entered my 2nd trimester I started using it twice a day. I am applying olive oil after taking bath. For this you have to apply olive oil on your wet body and massage a little bit. Leave it as it is. Your body will absorb the oil. This will make your clothes little oily but no choice. May be this technique help you.
Bye
Take care.
Shweta

Hi Viju

Its not possible to copmpletely get rid of stretch marks, but we can reduce getting it to some extent by applying creams. People suggest palmer' s cocoa butter formula, this u need to apply in night and the next day morning u can take bath. This can reduce the stretch marks to some extent. Even i started getting it, i am planning to get the cream as told by my friend.
I also apply coconut oil and wait for at least 30 mns bfr taking bath, try it too. Also try with olive oil.
Many say different opinions, so i m trying everything.
Hope this helps.

My son also had the same problem his legs used to shiver my doc said it is due to calcium defieciency b.coz I was calcium deficient. She gave him a tonic for 2 mnths it cured after that. The reason why ur baby' s leg is shivering may be this. Plz contact ur doc and take necessary steps as soon as possible.... - Sahila Gupta [View Message]

Not to worry
If you want a normal delivery, ask your doc first to try vaginal delivery if not then go for forceps delivery where baby can taken out with the help of tongs...
