n tia for successfully taking solids..

My son neel turned 4 mths on 20th april..he got his 4 mth shots(4 shots)...he cried bloody murder at the docs office...he was fussy for 2 days after the shots..gosh i dread his shots now...
he is 15.6 lbs/25.5 inches..he first rolled over on 15 april..He has rolled over a couple of times after that but...he quit since last wk..i jus think he is kinda lazy..
apparently his doc thinks its not a good idea to start solids yet for him..she didnt even recommend any vitamins...

Ok now the questions...
1. his doc says he should sleep through the night n doesnt need to be fed..r ur babies sleeping through the night? if yes pls give me suggestions on how to go about it..
2.i have to join work from june 1..I will have to wean completely by then...has anyone started formula? if yes which one?...
3.r u guys giving ur babies vitamins?...tri-vi sol ones?or diff ones?

for sush...how is ur bottle battle going on?ur right about the sign language thing...whilst doing a peds rotation..i met a few moms with babies who could sign...it was amazing to watch those babies..we had this one baby who could sign since she was 7 mths..she was potty trained by 11 mths..the mom recommended joseph garcias signs for babies book/dvd...
....r u using a high chair for tia? or feeding in car seat???..
...i read somewhere tia sleeps by herself in her crib..my son hates his crib n can never sleep by himself..i get so tired rocking him n singing to him...n starts wailing as soon as i put him in crib..
do let me know if u have any suggestions for the crib situation..

Reena..how is rishi doin with the reflux?are the meds or ur diet helping him?

Hope you are getting better fast yaar! As far as formula is concerned, babies can be exclusively BF till 6 months. However docs say introducing formula once a day to give relief to the mom is absolutely ok. I am just exclusively BF now with no formula at all coz of his reflux problem. Also, will start solids only after 6 months too. My doc kind of said no to Tri Vi as their effectiveness is not known as yet-studies are still going on. He also mentioned that its like chicken soup and so there is no harm in giving it. I am not giving it as Rishu is not at all coopertative with meds. His reflux was getting better but last 4-5 days have been real bad so am wooried. His fussiness had gone away due to my diet control, but that has become worse too.
Re sleep no comments as Rishu is a very ver light sleeper and I m myself struggling a lot and am walking around like a zombie all day as I am extremelu sleep deprived...

Tia was recc transitioning to semi solids since she had a good head & neck control + the tripod sitting had been achieved.It isn't much tho' only 1 tbs rice cereal once a day for 1 week to start with. sush replied. Hi Sweety

Anyways re: your questions..

Even my doc said that Tia should sleep thru' the nite..she actually does..I mean she doesn't open her eyes from 7 pm to 5:30-6am..but at about 2:30-3am ish she either screams(w/eyes closed)or whines & I feed her then...at round 8pm -ish when she stirs we try to stuff the bottle which she reluctantly takes( mushkil se about 1 to 2 oz)..earlier at 10pm(before I went to sleep) I used to feed her but have stopped that recently.

I basically put Tia in her stroller & move her from room to room..she usually sleeps on her own & then I pick her up & put her in her crib.She almost always sleeps by 6:30-7 pm...in the daytime she naps where ever she is playing & then I pick her up & put her in her crib...lately I have been putting her in her stroller in the balcony & she sleeps in the sun sometimes..
Actually I have always put her to sleep in the crib from Day 1 so thats why I guess she takes to it easily..
Plus when she is awake I sometimes put her there also when she wakes up I don't try to pick her but try to pat her back to sleep while she is in the crib itself..
