Dear archie,

I know u confused with the names, but i have no problems in that. His name is Hari.Records he is akshaj. Now u called him krish all are krishnas names.one in the 1008 names :).

Archie,i can't imagine how he adjusted with 1 ounze milk for 10 hrs.Even hari's doc said not to give formula,i am giving him archie. After reading u'r posting know,i thought better give him formula
rather than letting him strike like that. She is an indian doc only. But i don't know why she says like this.Anyway i will clarify all that before i go.Archie,i have a doubt, could u pls tell me what u meant by ODT.
I have some sample packets of formula powder with me archie.similac 1,enfamil-3,nestle-1.Archie what i have to do with three different ones.Do i have to take it with me.

And cows milk know ,can i mix the ragi with two three tblspoons of cow's milk while i am in india.
B'coz i think that powders they boil iit first then add cows milk and again boil it.
how will i add my milk instead of cows milk.

And archie she told to take 4 months shot now. then when i come back he will be in 7 month that time we can take.

Flu i will ask her.

I have little bit confidence now archie. All these things the big event in our life we handled ourselves alone,so why can't i do this little thing.I am bsy with packing.i bought 3 size diapers for him
I know it's big but i am staying for two months.By the time i hope he will grow.
I am taking 1 pack 2 size diapers also
now i bought 168 counts-1 and144 counts one.i think that will be enough for two months
after packing i will try to buy one more.

I bought that diaper cover also
And archie some are saying we can give juices also after4 months
Is it so.he will complete 4 by oct 25.

thank u so much archie,
take care
revathi.

Dear Revathi,
Sorry for the name confusion. Don't know how I thought his name be Krish when it isn't.

I did not say ODT, did I? I may have said OTC- Over the Counter and is referred to medicines those do not require medical prescription.

Giving formula is indeed good idea. do not give all three formulas, just stick to one of the three. I always gave Enfamil. also heard that Similac is good too.

About cows milk. Do not do that, American Academy does not appreciate before your baby turns 1 year. Try to buy large two packs of your desired formula powder with you and you can can mix cereals in the prepared formula as per instruction.

YOu do not add formula in boiling water, rather you add when it's at room temperature. YOu must boil water before that for about 10-15 minutes in India.

For four months baby you can even take number 3 and 4 sized diapers. I took number 4 diapers and they were bliss for use in India. Otherwise cost of diapers in India is nothing but loot.

As long as your pediatrician is OK with delaying third shot by a month you should be OK with it.

We are used to Advait and his eating habits. He is cool in many ways but sometime you know he has his ways. I think he is not very happy to eat or drink outside. He does not create fuss but prefers to stay without food until we are back home. When my MIL was around and we went to DC, I did experienced something like but in much milder way. He did not eat anything in nearly 7-8 hours. He did not like that hotel and would cry out loud the moment we enter in elevator. All was fine soon we came to our room and he was very hungry. I think we also noticed this if we go shopping for all the day he would only need some water and he can be happy smiling without showing any tired face until back home. Of course I always have his food with us and try to see if anywhere its possible to feed. I was terrified first time we were to go to hotel. But he was peaceful and such a co-operative and now we are used to hotelling. When he sees all are eating there he won't mind eating but not in public area, we did not teach, he got his own discipline:)

I hope I have clarified your doubts, come back if you have some left.

Archie

hi revati

though this post is not for me, but im willing to say my view.
your baby is going to be 3 months old, i think u can start giving formula.start with 1 pack at a time.if he doent like the taste then try another one. once if u opne a pack u must discard after a month. so open one at a time.
if ur baby doesnt like formula, try to sppon feed the formula in flight .. only in case if u cannot breast feed in public.i spoon fed formula once to my baby..she likes to spoon fed instaed of bottle.
ask ur mom regarding ragi feeding..

yes,its good to take larger size diaper.

revati, in india elders will start to give solid foood right from month 3 or so but here its different.

i got a very good catalog from my doctor's office regarding \";when to start solid and what to give 1st
\";

i will scan and post u that. that is very useful.

my baby is crying
bye

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
