Due Date Club December 2005:Karva Chauth

Hi everybody!
I think Karva Chauth is on 20th of October. Am I right? Are you ladies observing the full fast that day? Or are there some different rules for a pregnant lady?

Dear Chinky & Bhavna!
Thanks for your replies. Even I will be in my eighth month on the Karva Chauth day (as I will be completing my seventh month tomorrow). Actually, I am really confused about observing the fast or not. I had once spoken to my mother-in-law about this (long time back) and she had told me that everybody fasts on that day, even the pregnant ladies.
And, my mother told me, that, when she was pregnant (both at my time and at my brother's time), she observed the fast. But, she told me to observe the fast only till the time, I am able to. She has told me to say the Katha soon and have juice or milk. I am yet to ask my mother-in-law, as to what exactly, I should do. In our tradition, we have to do as per our mother-in-law's instructions. So, I have to ask her. Lets see........
But, I know, specially during this month, it will not be a good idea to observe the fast.
Thanks again!

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

hi
So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
