What can be done to improve safety of children in school? Do schools in India lack in providing safety to children? What do you feel about Mumbai terror attack and safety of children? Mahesh replied. We first need to fight terrorism before doing anything else. First of all the border should be tightened and there should be an awareness among people about terrorism. The world needs a police force that is not affiliated with any government. This police force should be very small and very powerful. When an act of terrorism is committed, this police force shall commit an act of terrorism against the terrorists that is ten times as awful as the first act. Public should be given awareness about terrorism and its effects. Some schools in India like government aided schools do nothing for safety of children. The best and most certain way to change behavior or belief of any kind is not force or threat, but education. If you can logically explain to someone why something is wrong, counter-productive, ill advised or makes them look stupid, they will cease the behavior. If you simply tell them that their actions/beliefs will cause them discomfort, cause anger from others or is wrong according to your beliefs, they will probably continue to follow their inner guidance, undeterred by you. I am thinking of visiting my son’s school to check out what does authority doing about children’s safety. I am not talking about only in case of terror attack but also some other problems like going to school and coming back home alone, using electronic switch boards, using computers in school, etc. At home we have first aid box handy. One first aid kit probably wouldn' t be good for a large college, but for an individual building or a campus security vehicle you could make a decent kit. Dressings, gauze, bandages, safety pins, small slings, rubber bands, plasters, small bottles are must in first aid box.
