I have a 5 year old girl who just started kindergarten. She is very social at home and plays with all the neighborhood kids but as soon as we get to school she becomes very quiet and scared. Please advise me on helping her.

Hello everyone,
i have a daughter who is smart and intelligent but very shy to talk to anyone except me, her daddy and her younger brother who is 2 yrs old. In the school also she is sitting quitely even if she knows the answer what the teacher is asking. She is telling she is scare of teacher. Her teacher is so nice. When someone comes to the house she goes to another room and wont come out until they leave the house. please give me the ur valuable suggestion immediately. i really dont know what to do. thank you so much for the timely advice.

i also have a daughter who is shy she is fine around home but with people she doesnt know very shy especially without her older brother she they spend more time apart?

I also have the same problem wih my 5yr.old son.He is speaking very good at home is very fine with our friends circle but at school his teacher said he is very quiet.I guess they will change as they grow older.

I am also looking the change in behaviour for my 2 Yr young daughter.. She is going to creche and becomes quiet... while at home she always talks this or that....

Don´t change your ghild.Some people are sociable and the others are shy.Take your children as they are and don´t try to change their personality.I can see nothing wrong with being shy.Don´t push your children to be the way you want them to be.
