My 6m baby is having diaper rash. The area around anus is quite red.

1)what exactly is diaper rash? is it bacterial/fungal, or just some skin irritation?
2)can it spread if not trated?

can i use diaper when the baby has rash? she awakes many times at night if no diaper (and i hv office).

3) what are the causes? I m in India and make my baby wear diaper only at night or for outings. What happ that she got it?

4)What is the purpose is diaper actually? I assumed diaper can be used to absorb susu for 3-4 hours, is this correct? Is it ok to put diaper for all night?

5) I want to klnow which of these remedies is the better/right treatment for diaper rash

1* Apply Valbet Skin Cream and then sprinkle powder Neosporin on the area.

Valbet : Beclomethasone Dipropionate, Miconazole Nitrate & Neomycin Sulphate Cream

Neosporin powder: Neomycin and Ploymyxin B Sulfatesand Bacitracin Zinc Powder (says:antibiotic powder)

2* Siloderm Mixi cream : antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial skin cream with consituents as: Clotrimazole IP,
Beclomethasone Dipropionate IP,
Gentamicin sulfate IP,
Chlorocresol IP,
Benzyl alchohol IP
in a cream base of Propylene Glycol
