I have a just 9 month completed baby and trying to pump twice at work to give him the BM. Overall I nurse him only 3 times a day, sometimes 4 times. Morning before I start to work, during lunch hour (he usually doesn't nurse well these days at this feeding) and again in the night before his bedtime.
Maybe because of the long gap I give between the Afternoon feeding and night time OR what, I don't know, I started feeling that my milk is lowering in amount. But I was not able to change this as he will not drink milk in the evening as it's his dinner time (solid).
So I was happy with the way how I was feeding him. BUt suddenly today in my morning session I didn't get any milk at all. After trying for 5-7 minutes all I got was .5 oz, that is just half ounce. I feel teribble. So sad and depressed too. Please some one give me some advice to increase the milk flow. Yesterday I noticed that to less than the usual amount, but I didn't expect the milk to stop completely like this. PLEAASE... Any advice??!!!
michael replied. Milk formation is triggered by the sucking action. Let him suck as much as he want. Extracting milk with pump is not equal to the sucking action. Mom replied. Hi!
I am also BF my 6 month old son. Inorder to increase milk try following.
1. Eat Papaya--it really helped me.
2. try to feed him as often as possible. The more he sucks the more milk u make.
