Hi, My baby is exclusively breast fed and she refuses bottle or sippy cup.I am trying hard to give her outside milk but nothng works. What should I do? Should i make her cry and not feed for a day? please advise. gauri replied. Hi DP,

I'm trying to wean my 10 month old off too. And he has the same problem...he pushes teh sippy cup away with both hands. Then I put the milk in the cereal or put some sugar and vanilla essence in it, or if it's too hot, I mix it with icecream and give it. Even that doesn't work most of teh times, but it's better than plain milk. Also, sometimes if he's distracted (try telling him a story or switching the TV on...I know it's bad, but at least they drink milk). Try those things....it's not right to have the baby eat only solids...they still need abt 20 oz of milk a day. Take care...

Is she taking any solids? If not, you could probably start with solids before you start the process of weaning. That way you are not worried about her food intake.

You could try a bottle when she is sleepy.
