today my doctor told me that my triple marker test reports for neural tube defect is positive, iam depressed and don' t know what to do, my gynac has asked me to go for an ANOMALY SCAN on 25th of April, so that it may be further confirmed. i am really worried, and praying to god that everything is ok. plz u all pray for my baby, this is my first baby and i don' t want to loose my baby at any cost. garima replied. hello everyone,
yesterday i had given my blood sample again for another triple marker test, reports will come after 2-3 days, my 5th month started on 9th of april, lets see, iam praying to god.
in my earlier test the ratio was 1:225, but as iam 27 yrs old it has to be 1:350 thats why this is scaring me so much. my anamoly scan will be done on 25th of this month.

As others said, check with NT splst and also amino. Amino is accurate and other things mostly we get false positives. Our prayers for you and your baby.....

Rupal is correct..I suggest you to go to NT specialist for second opinion they are more accurate..also you can go for amino test results of amino are more accurate.you are in which week?

Have you had a second opinion about this? It might be an idea to consult another doctor about this... also, did you go to a specialist to get the marker test done? I read in a book that sometimes the gyneacologist does not refer to a specialist but it is wise to go to one anyhow...

Actually for identifying Neural Tube defect my doctor has done a NT Scan , it has to be done during 11-14 week, sonologist will measure some area below the neck of the fetus. then they use to calculate risk.
If that comes above 3mm then only doctor use to recommend triple test to verify.
If you missed this scan one blood test can be done, but still scan use to be much acurate.

Which week u r into? as anomaly scan has to be done after 21 week only.
ask ur doctor abt it, and find out the risk factor.
