Nurseries and Schools:when to start montessarri?

Hi all,
I would like to now what age is good to start with montessarri.My child is 2 years and 10 months and have been at home so far.your replies will be very helpful.Also after starting montessarri and given a break for few months for travel,is it ok,since children tend to forget soon.

My friend is also going to India and plans to start Montessori only when her daughter is 3 yr and 8 months.

From what I have seen with my son, at 3 there is a sudden readiness to learn. I think 3 is ideal to start. They are also craving for friends at that time.

I don't think a break should be a problem. In Montessori they don't have a \";syllabus\";. They teach skills. So at age 3, I would not worry about a break.

Good luck! My son is starting Montessori school this week. He has never been away from the house so far.

I too was hoping to start at 3 to 3 1/2.some people say that 3 and half is also ok,I have been confused since I also plan to travel to India for couple of months and there will be a break.I will have to decide wheter to start after coming back at 3 and half or now.but anyway thanks so much for your response.
