I am mother of 19 months old boy. He sometimes eats paint/cement from the wall. Kindly let me know if any one of u have has the same issues and whats the best way to control him.

Your baby may have the calcium deficiency , and thats why he likes to eat the things which he is addicted to due to the tempting smell, which a calcim tablet whould give him if you provide him with the Calcium tablets which are specially made for kids of this age and ofcourse could be used at later stage as well.
I could suggest you the name as well, but you can always talk with your doctor regarding this.Its Calcium Zydus , it used to cum in the white plastic bottle .

My mom used to tell me that i used to lick wet mud. Its just that I liked the smell. Even now i like the smell but, i know I shouldnt eat mud so i dont do that.
So, dont worry abt it. He must be eating it becoz he likes the smell. Ofcourse u need to bother abt it becoz it would upset his stomach so, just be stern with him whenever he's abt to eat such things. Keep him away from such environments. Once he is a little older u can make him understand.
Probably u can just speak with his paed he may give some useful suggestion. Carrie replied. First ask your babys doctor what to do!! He could get sick.
Well my son is only 5 months old, but i have a lot of friends with older babbies, what they do when there babys get into things is: say with a firm tone NO, then not to hard, tap there hand before they get to it...and they don't smile at all because the child might think that it is ok to do whatever there doing wrong. hope this helps....
