Hi All,
my little girl is 2 months and I have started to go to work . we have already put her on formula. But I want to express milk and feed her . I am planning to buy a breast pump. I am in chennai where the temprature is 40 deg . can someone advice how long I can use the milk after expressing it??

expressing milk is a good way to keep your milk supply.I continued breastfeeding even after I went for work.I used to express my milk twice at work and store it.My doctor in Pune-Dr Mangala Wani who is a gynae and breastfeeding specialist helped and motivated me a lot.She told me that if you keep the expressed milk at room temp.it will last for 6 hours and in refrigerator for 24 hours.Before feeding I use to warm the milk by keeping it in the bowl of warm water.

keep milk in refg and reheat in running hot water (not direct heating).dont microwave

According to my gyno, I have some special hormones due to which i can easily lactate and due to that my motherly instincts are extremely high. I was lactating until 1 yr back & I still can induce if i want to breastfeed anyone.
