Hi.. my son just completed 7 months today. from the past one month he has been bogged down with cough, cold flem and finally wheeze. the first time people at home had infection and he got it. the second time round he has got it just after 10 days again.. and from the past one week is suffering.
He is normally a very easy child and sleeps thru the nite. now he keeps waking up and sleeps only when carried. he also fusses a lot to feed.
Doc has given salbid expectorant.. and suggested steaming.
what do i do? and how do i prevent furhter infections? is homepathic advised as a preventive medicine? jasmine replied. i tried homeopathy for my 3 yr old, treated her for 1 hy and she is fine now.

the same homeopathic doc said u can give it to babies also

My baby is almost 6m and having same problem these days. She got it from her elder sis. And this is the second time she has been infected.

Fever, blocked nose with mucus, cough, apetite loss ... dull baby. The medicines are also bad in taste.

Doc advised steaming, and i use an electric steamer. I just sit infront of it with baby sitting/sleepin on my lap. Do it atleast 3 times, has helped the baby a lot. Apart from this, he has prescribed medicine for cold and cough, and fever medicine only if fever.

Ask your Dr about nose drops for baby for blocked nose. My doc has also suggested karvol (i m in india, something like liquid vicks) to be put on baby's clothes.
Keep baby a little high while sleeping. Put nose drops 5 min before feed (ask Dr first)
