Please suggest, Hetal. I m really worried.

My 4 yr daughter has been having this stomach ache complain since past 3-4 months.

The complaint is irregular. It is 3rd or 4th time she is complaining again in passed 3-4 months.

The feature of complaint is like this :
- Trend of stomach pain: she complains of stomach ache at times. Sometimes there is no fever/cold/cough associated. Some other times after the ache she has gone to loo and has got relieved. At other times, she was constipated. At some other times, she complained of \";spasm\"; type pain... and when she pulled legs near stomach, the pain was relieved after some time.
And some times, fever was associated with stomach ache.
- Passed saturday: This is second/third time she has had fever along with stomach ache.

(2 months back- first time compplaint started) She used to complain abt ache on n off, and we wd treat her assuming constipation (she wd pass gas after ache at times) ... but then once she had severe stomach pain, she woke up from sleep in morning complaining of severe stomach pain, and suddenly had high fever, we took her to Dr immdly. The doc conducted blood and urine-culture tests which came out normal. Doc treated her with some antibiotic (dont remember the drug) and said it is due to stomach/intestinal infection. She said its not apendicitis after checking the place of pain.
Kid was fine after that for some days.

-Kid sufferred from cough a couple of times after that, with and without fever. Was treated homeopathy and was fine.

-2 weeks back, kid sufferred from severe cough cold and fever again, we went back to same allopathic Dr who treated her with common medicines like Sinarest, crocin, etc.
Kid had no relief from cough even after a week's treatment. We went back to homeopathy and kid got quick relief.
After some days kid again started complaining of \";spasm\"; type stomach ache .. but no fever/cold/cough associated.

-Past week : kid complains more about \";spasm\"; type of pain, and cough is back.

Next morning she has one watery stool - first time in these 3-4 months.

Now she also has high fever, even shivers severely at times.

We immdly took her to new allopathy doc (the previous allopathy Dr is out of town). This Dr says it seems because of a new virus which causes spasm type of pain ... and says fever is because of cough. Throat is v bad but chest clear.

She prescribed \";Duclav\"; antibiotic, Sinarest, Meftal-P, Meftal-spas. Kid improves and is fine after 4 days.

- Day 5 morning: Medicines reduced by now. Dry cough is back. Increases with time. Night: Fever about 100 F.
Day 6: early morning kid wakes us complaining stomach pain.
We go back to same Dr, she says it was because we dint complete Duclav antibiotic dose of 5 days. Says throat is better but 25% is remaining.
When i ask about stomach ache, she asks kid about urination. Kid says she has itching sometimes.
Dr recommends for urine test and says stomach ache is prob because of urine infection. Asks her to give lot of liquids.

Current situation:
I am waiting for urine report. Will post results when they come, but i dont expect infection (the urine test was normal last time also)
Kid is v v weak. I can 'run' more than kid, she gets tired soon.
When she wakes up from sleep, she complains of severe ankles pain .. and comes to me literally crawling.
Pain relieves after some time.
Skin around kid's nails is coming off in thin stripes (prob vit c deficiency). She has dark circles around eyes. There is no weightloss though.

Her bw was 3.3 kgs. At 4 yrs 2 months, she is 16 kgs.
She dint have any such prolonged illness till 1.5 yr old. When she was 1.5 yrs, she sufferred from frequent cough, which dint get cured with allopathy, and got cured after 1 yr homeopathy treatment.

She was fine after that till she was 4. I had another baby 6m back and perhaps the elder kid got neglected (atleast i hv the guilt).

I hv tried to seek opinion from 3rd doctor ... who checked previous treatment and test reports and says stomach ache/leg pain is a \";functional\"; problem. Said, at most we can go for stool test of consecutive 3 days.

I m really worried. Can you please guide, what cd be wrong with my kid? What direction shd we go?

Its tough managing this with baby (breastfed) and office. The baby has got infected (viral fever) due to sister 2 times.

Please help.

Pls send me the reply u said u had typed and stored in ur laptop. I undstd u r busy, pls do it whenever u find convenient.

I also want to know why the kid was complaining abt legs pain. Is it weakness? If u think it is, what can i do to recover her asap?
Kids Hb has come out 10.5. I am making sure that she intakes liquids, soups, veg, fruits, nuts, eggs, meals. Is this sufficient or we put her on some tonic?

Another thing- on the \" functional problem\" . I m sorry i lacked in communication on that. I think my doc means something else when he says its a functional prob, something like when kids lie to excuse from food ... or need sympathy/attention etc ... a pshycological problem probably.
(i ll ask him this on my next visit)
and thats why he has given the herbal tonic. The tonic is just an apetite booster for kids. And he says telling that its for the stomach ache will address the pschycological prob (functional prob, in his langg) of the kid.

Last and not the least ... i know my kid wont lie/act. I m sure abt this transparency in our relationship.

1. The urine report is normal.
2. what does it mean by \" functional problem\" ? When the doc said it seems like a functional problem, he suggested one herbal tonic called \" Eat Ease\" for the kid, and said, \" give this to the kid and tell her that this if for her stomach ache. If u dont tell, her functional problem wont go\" .

but as of now i have something to say,,if the prob is functional,,only one thing will help your child recover totally,,which is surgery,,but for that your child should have a complete scan done,,to know exactly where the organ is function is going wrongg,,,rest all i have wrttn in my home lptp,,hope to reach soon and post you..
