first of all congrats for ur new born son. i hope both of ur kids are doing fine.

Archie as u know i have never been able to take folic acid tablets becoz of too much of nausea tendencies and i could not tolerate the smell of any medicines . now am 20 weeks pregnant and some of the earlier symptoms are gone now. i am down with cold n sore throat for the 2 days and i had to take paracetamol tablets as the doc said things mite get worse for me if the infection continues. for the first time during my pregnancy i had medicines. i was wondering if i can tolerate the smell of the folic acid tablets now can i start having it? i know i sud have had it on my earlier stages but i cudnt at all and so the doctor said to have a good healthy diet and i have tried to maintain a good diet so far. can my not intaking folic acids harm the baby anyways? frnds keep on telling i sud have had it but i fail to make them realise that i was seriously not able to have them and that makes me feel sad.
i am going for the 20th week scanning this coming wednesday. i thought u r the best person who can tell me and all the expecting mothers here.

You will know baby progress and development with reference to anatomy, head to toe when you have level II ultrasound, I will be glad to hear about that.

If you want take folic acid here onward won't hurt though it's most needed in first trimester.

I hope your sorethroat and cold is OK. try to keep out of bad weather and also people affected by some illness that's the way you can save yourself from getting into such health troubles.
