Aparna replied. you can try daliya with milk (sweet) or with moong dal (salty), mashed banana, mashed apple, boiled/fried potato and cerelac for a change. khichdi, kheer or phirni will be good for baby. Best of luck!
Sankari replied. Hi Sunita,
My baby is 18mths old and I try different kinds of food for her.
Please don’t force your baby, let her feel hungry. Since your baby is already a year old, you could teach how to express her needs. Try with different kinds of tasty food. Find her favorite one. Give her some finger foods too and make her love food. Keep cut fruits, bread pieces, roti pieces, baby biscuits and other baby eatables on a plate and allow her to choose on her own (please be with her). If your baby says no to food try only once or twice after that. She will ask on her own if she wants.
Since your baby is 1yr + you can try fruit juices instead fruits as such. You can make juices from fresh apple, strawberry, carrot, orange, honey dew, pear. Try the following fresh juice cocktails !!
Apple and carrot
Apple and grapes
Carrot and orange
Add sugar if necessary or avoid adding sugar.
Try bread with milk. Give roti with mashed banana or Roti soaked in milk. Idli or Dosai soaked in fresh curd or give with ghee/sugar mix.
Prepare dosai with finely grated carrot topping or sugar topping.
Cook rice to very soft by increasing the water (preferably pressure cook).
Give rice with dhal, fresh curd, tomato rasam , cooked vegetables. Please don’t grind the cooked rice in mixer or blender. It will take off the original taste of the food. Mix with hand or spatula.
You can try the following dish to give with rice
Cook any of these vegetables (finely cut) like cabbage, chow chow, cucumber, sqaush, palak with salt and cook till the vegetable is soft. Cook moong dhal seperately and add cooked vegetable let it cook for a minute or so and add a pinch of cumin powder. Try feeding with ghee.
Cook palak with only 1 garlic flake and cumin add salt and grind it finely in a mixer and give with rice.
You can also cook rice with moong dhal to very soft. Mix salt, cumin powder and ghee before you feed.
You can try any one of these mentioned above. Its not so your baby will like all it depends on her taste.
Subhadra replied. Try mashed bananas with honey, soft scrambled eggs with milk eggs and a dash of cream, upma, or iddli if u r a south indian, or just try giving ragi with jaggery all these worked with my kid..he is 13 months old

So my sister’s child is a very fussy eater. She generally makes veggie cheese rolls or sandwiches to get her to eat her vegetables. She tries to use colourful and pretty veggies to get her to eat. Giving smoothies, fruit salads and milkshakes is another appetizing and attractive method. In fact she even decided to supplement her diet with Immuno Boosters and Brain Booste... - say [View Message]
