My baby has been born prematurely by 17 days on 14july 2003.
Is it safe to assume that baby has colic if she cries even though not hungry and feels somewhat relieved if taken around the hose, as soon you try to put her down o bed she starts crying.
What can be done to avoid this colic?
Is it sage to give / try these things like application hing water on stomach; gripe water, or homeopathic medicine.

Any other remedy available.
Please help

Congrats on ur little bundle of joy. I too had a little baby boy on 6th July premature by abt 10 days.

I too faced the same problem of whether my baby had colic or not. Some telltale signs of colic are if the baby seems to cry for no apparent reason(meaning that he is neither too cold or hot, isn't wet and has had his feed) and if he seems to have spasms of stomach pain particularly in the late afternoons and early evenings. My baby used to have these and we went to the doc. He also used to pass a lot of gas. The doc prescribed a medicine called \";colicaid\"; and \";Bonnisan\";. These have been effective in relieving him of his pain. Also application of hing on his stomach isn't harmfuol as it is just an external application. I still do it whenever i feel my son has a problem.

But pls don't give any medicines without consulting ur doc. Talk to ur doc abt these medicines and do let me know what he says.
