Breastfeeding:Breastfeeding through Nipple shield

I have a problem with breastfeeding, I had a C-Section delivery and my baby is 2 months old now. the first day i was under observations and i couldnt feed my baby later the 2nd day the nurse helped my baby to intake milk through a nipple shield. Till now i am struggling to change that but my baby is yelling whenver i try for direct feeding.

Please help me with a solution as i am worried that through nipple shield my baby cannot have sufficient milk.

Anu If your baby is happy when u feed her with nipple shield then it means milk she is getting is enough for her what make u think she is not having enough.I myself used nipple shield for first couple of weeks n after that i use to express n my son was on FM from day 3rd as i also had c- section n sitting (alti palti mar kar) was problem.have u recently weighed her? is she putting weight, is she happy baby if yes then it means she is fine.

Hey,

Thanks a lot for ur reply. I would also gorgot to mention that from the 2nd i started giving formula 1 for her as per doctors advice as BF milk was not sufficient and also her weight was not increased on that time now she has put on good weight and normal.

According to my gyno, I have some special hormones due to which i can easily lactate and due to that my motherly instincts are extremely high. I was lactating until 1 yr back & I still can induce if i want to breastfeed anyone.
