all indian men are mama's boy
they have too much love and respect towards their mom and dad, once they get married they take too much care that their wife has to take good care of their parents, talk to them, and be a good dil, but they forget what are their repsonsibilities towards the newly wed girl who has left her parents, her brothers, sisters, relatives and has taken such a big step in her life and concentrate too much on what their parents and relatives feel about their new dil,
first of all they forget the newly wed girl emotional needs, where she feel so insecure in a new environment and upon that no support on her side, and she needs to take everyone's permission, and whatever she tries to do everyone feels that she would have done it better and she should take care of her in-laws very well,
no one to take care of her emotional needs forget about her parents, who will never come in the picture

and since there is a custom that after marriage they have to go to girls parents have for that only reason they allow their loving and very dearest son to go to his in-laws house that too they keep a good track of how many days he will stay and keep giving him tips over the phone,

So many so-called westerner are coming to India in their 70-80ies to have comfort in our culture, to be cared when they were left alone by their so called open minded sons/daughters, that why we are proud of our culture. U mean ladies will not understand now since u r young & can take care of urself, once old & neglected only u ll realise how much u need ur MAMA'S BOYS. I agree that indian men are quite attached to their parents, I don't know about indian women but I'm guessing it's probably the same, seems like you just don't have a choice in the matter after marriage. I think, in general, you should want someone who loves their parents, not at the expense of their spouse though. However, it's in your culture to allow such behavior. I think more women should stand up for themselves against this particular injustice. I agree that you are to cater to your husband and their parents after marriage. I don't even understand why, in your culture, you don't move out on your own or move in with the wives parents - but that has been tradition. Maybe coming generations should change things - I hope things work out for the better.
Either way, I don't think you can blame men, they are raised that way and so the ladies are raised to do things a certain way also. Your man is just lving tradition. Blame the generations before you.
