Hi,

I have 6 months old baby boy and planning to go to India in this Jan.
Does anybody know which vaccine shot is given to baby before travelling to india.
i wil appreciate if anyone can help me

ask your dr about it.

let your dr know which places in india or any other country you are likely to visit..

vaccinations/shots/medications are given on basis of place or cities lying under a specific sickness or disease zone..so if at all you are visting any place which comes under that sickness or some disease zone, your baby is likely to get shots or vaccination or medication prior to travelling for that particular disease,,, by your dr in US.

also, its advisable to finish your regular vaccinations before you set off to travel overseas and take all the medical records of your baby alongwith you in your travel bag...

hi,

Our ped recommended giving anti malarial and hepatitis shots for the baby when he is 6 months old before going to india.

I have also read in this site about oral anti malarial mediactions for the babies instead of shots.Do check with ur ped.
