Due Date Club December 2005:Hi Archie Please help!!!

Hi Archie,

I am in my 27th week and my due date is 27th dec.
As written by Ammy about my condition i was shopping with my hubby on saturday for almost 7 hours and sunday i did a lot of household work in the morning and evening i again went out for shopping for almost 3 hours. So by the time i came back home on sunday night i again felt little spotting. Monday afternoon again it continued and so i rushed to the hospital in the evening. There the doc did scan and told me that there is some disturbance in the womb. And also i told her that i was feeling cramps in my abdomen. So she immediately put me in the labour room to monitor for contractions and baby's heartbeat. Accordingly there were some contractions and later it subsided on its own after 4 hours or so. Meanwhile she also gave me injections for baby's lungs to mature in case in deliver premature baby. But after 4-5 hours everything was ok and they put me in the ward for 2 days just for observation.

Also they did the scan and found out that the baby is fine. And the placenta is around 3 cm from the cervix. Also one more thing they checked for the cervix and found out that it is closed. And now she has put me on \";NIFEDIPINE 10 MG CAPSULE\"; for the relaxation of womb for a week. Next week i.e. 6th oct i again hv an appointment with her and if everything seems ok she said i can fly back to India. Right now i am in singapore and the flight time is around 5 1/2 hours.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Mihika,
so much relieved after reading your posting. Try to take good rest and do the shopping only what is compulsory and that too if u feel comfortable don't exaust your self.
Minimize the household work also.
But at present stop everything and take rest .
keep posted.
good luck

Mihika,
I was very concerned and glad you wrote me.
yes after a appointment and assuring all is fine you should be OK to travel to India.

Your cervix is thick and closed is good thing.

Not much concern from Placenta.

Archie

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
