Due Date Club October 2003:Anyone with similar problem?

Hi Girls
Since 1 week I have problem digesting food.
And I also started to throw up once a day.
Nurse says its bcos of the babies pressing the tummy that it cant function normally. But still it worries me coz I donno if my nutrition is ok now. I do try to compensate a lot with uncooked food like Bread, Cheese, Milk, Yogurt etc which somehow I am able to retain inside. its mainly our Indian cooked food that I have problem with.
Anyone else having trouble eating and digesting.
I already faced a terrible nauseau in first trimester and scared to even recollect it. I heard that Nauseau will return in third trimester for some, I am afraid I fall in that category.
Other than this I am ok, this is the main prob.

Ashra,
I feel bad for u. I know how it feels.
I feel sick too but not as bad as my first trim. I vomit maybe once a day. I am able to retain certain foods. I dont care for taste at all, whatever I can retain I eat.
Main thing is to eat, u feel more weak if u dont eat well. I asked my mom and she told me to have medicinal kind of foods like how my grandparents eat. Maybe u can ask ur mom too. U wont believe I even grind the cooked rice and add hot rasam or curd and mash it well and have it. Since 1 week I cant even eat normal rice. But I am happy atlesat I can eat the mashed rice.
See what suits u and dont give up, u have to eat well to feel better...
Take care

Hi Bar,

Your twins need the nutrition and I am hoping this might work for you.
You get a medley of frozen cut veggies in the frozen section. Take that, boil it in the microwave so that it is kinda soft, then put butter in a pan and fry it with salt. It tastes yummy, especially with curd rice and you get the nutrition you need from the veggies.
Let me know if this works.

Thanks to u all for ur suggestions.
Sumi, kinda I do what u mentioned.
Either Spinach or Brocolli or other veg I jus make them soft(or frozen is easy) and then make a fry with jus salt and barely any spice and eat with curd rice.

hi guys...
dont worry. i havent come acroos something like that as of now. But i think it will be better for you if you avoid spicy and masala foods totally. try to eat as much bland as possible, i know it will be tough for some days , but then u might get accustomed to it....i will let u know if i find something more abt this

Hi,
I seem to be doing everything possible, as Nick said even plain dal and rice is tough. I somehow can take curd rice so thats my prime lunch and dinner these dys. Nick, I too have that acid thing coming up... but as long as u dont throw up its ok... but I do throw up too
I really dont mind all this, but worried abt the nutrition intake thats all. Anyway I am meeting the doc this sat, will sort out things then.
Take care
Bar

Hi Bargavi & Nick,

I feel very sorry for you guys. I am not feeling this way but just want to share information what I know.

Heard that we should avoid all Masala and spicy food. Need to drink lot of water. Have food in small quantities. Finish your dinner by 6:30 or 7:00Pm and try to walk slowly for some time after dinner.

Don't worry friends. Just 2 and 1/2 months for u both. So take care.

I hope you will better soon.
Anu

Anu.

I have a somewhat similar problem specially from my 27th week. The nausea of my 1st trimester is back but haven't thrown up yet (Dunno when that will also start,I am keeping my fingers corssed).
I am having somesort of heartburn even with my normally cooked Indian food at home.
The only things I don't have heartburn are fruits and boiled food.
I drink plenty of water but somehow the acidic taste of food keeps coming back.
I read that meals should be taken 3 hrs before bedtime and to avoid tomatoe ,citrus fruits ,spicy food etc .
I try to follow it but guess heartburn is normal in the 3rd trimester.
Sometimes I wonder what to eat as even daal and rice causes heartburn.
