Health Issues:Travelling to US with a small baby in Jan

Hi All,

I have a very cute baby girl who is 2 months old.My husband is leaving for US this weekend and I will be travelling in Jan 2n dweek with the baby.First of all I am jittery at thought of travelling alomst 20 hrs alone with such a small baby.Also I have heard that winters esp Jan is extremely cold in Denver and I am worried about how the baby will fare over there.
Hence it would be great help if Moms in US or who have had similar experieces could help and also provide me some sort of list of clothes n other stuff I need to carry for the baby from India.

Hi.. my son is 7 months old now and i plan to travel in march to the US.. east coast(NJ). He will be around 10 months old then.
1)how can i manage him on the flight.
2)once i get there how do ihelp him transit the time change. he sleeps thru the nite now .. hoping to get him to do the same once he gets there.. how do i do it?
3) will it be very cold then and what do i need to take with me for clothing him?
4) what are the other things that my child might need that i should take from here

I live in Denver.Yes temp go below zero in Dec.I travelled to Denver in Dec when my girl was 5mnths.Dont worry.Put on a comfortable slightly thick dress (not wool)and a baby coat.Feed her during the travel My baby slept thru the whole time.So will yours .So dont worry.Booties,Hat and gloves for the baby.You will be fine.Have a safe journey.

welcome to usa.keep all items especially diapers,feeding bottles,sweaters in ur hand baggage.we should keep warm always the children under 3 months old.dont forget to get head caps.and keep the nasal drops with the sggestion of ur doctor.and some body use the drops to make the children to sleep in flight .my advice is dont use such type of medicines.b'coz some children may not able to take breathe.ur kid is just 2 months old so i think she will sleep in the total journey time.feed her something in the takeoff'n'landing(breastfeed,bottlefeed).

Hi Swap,
Welcome to the US of A.
Just carry a jacket during plane travel. We get good jackets here in US.U might even ask uy DH to buy one for ur cutie & give it to u assuming when he comes to pick u up from the airport. It will be cold even inside the airplane in this time of the year. U might wanna buy fleece kinds for inside the plane since woolen sweaters cause static. The other clothes that we get here will be of very good quality. U might wanna just buy the traditional ones assuming u will be here for a long time.
