Thanks 4 answering my questions n posting a lt of helpful information. As my kid is now 6 months old, I want to know when is the right time to start giving vegetables like parsnip and leek.....I came across some good puree recepies of these vegetables and was wondering if this is the right time to start.

Also want to know the right time to start giving legumes like chick pea (kabuli chana) n black chana to babies.

avoid channa as much as you can,even with good garlic or onion,,it gives gas,,

offer moong if you want Hetal replied. yes parnips, ok to give to 6months old,provided you have given carrots, green peas,sweet potatoes..

leeks are also okay to offer,,some cultures have offered it widely,,but check for acceptance from your baby and offer after you have given sweet potato and parnips successfully.

leek has mild onion like taste and it might give your baby lil reflux or cause discomfort,,or may cause smelly bowels,,,,so make sure to cook it well or give it very lil,,namesake...best to offer at 9months onwards.

for ne of the onion garlic family foods like shallots, garlic, green onions, leeks,garlic sprouts,,offer later the better,,and check for ne discomforts or uneasiness if at all caused during bowels,digestion or ne other gastric problem !
