Hey thanks for replying back yes its nice to share ur concerns with someone, I have been eating propely but its not showing in the weight gain, all my tests show that the baby's alright TOUCHWOOD! except I believe it wont be a nice fat chubby baby as the doc had originally thought it would be. But whats comforting is that its fine. And I guess it makes no sense getting worked up as I just discovered my BP's gone up as well and now I have to take bed rest for a week. Anyways, I guess rest will do me some good as I usually keep running around from place to place now I can relax and watch movies, listen to music and READ! so here's hoping all's well on ur end too....stay in touch and wish you all the best! Keep writing in!

Hi Vaishali,

Why worry about weight gain when the doctor says everything is fine with the baby. That is what is important. Your baby still has a few weeks to grow those cheeks.

Sorry to hear about your BP, hope you control your salt intake and continue to take rest.

Regarding not gaining weight for 5 weeks, from my 5th month I haven't gained much weight at all. I have gained all my weight in my first trimester itself, so doctor is not concerned. I guess, it differs from one person to another. Some gain in third trimester but not in first. I guess, as long as the baby is fine, we shouldn't worry too much.

Due to my swollen feet, I had gained 5 lbs in one week, that's worrisome too. I guess, we worry about everything, small or big.

Hey Vaishali, rest/relaxation really does help and I am glad you are planning on do that.. I am sure a few days of it will surely bring the BP down.. Take care and enjoy the music..I am sure the baby would love it too.. :)

Like Nikita said, dont worry about the baby's weight... I am sure he/she will be just fine by Nov.. What Simmi said was right, we need an extra 300 calories these three months and so do increase your intake of rich/healthy food..

Hi Vaishali,

Sorry to hear about ur BP. But, good to know that u r trying to think positive and relaxing. Focus on taking as much rest as u can. This is the time, when we should let others pamper us as much as they can :-)

Don't worry about baby not being chubby as we still have approximately 2 more months to go and as Simmi also mentioned, babies normally gain fat in the last 8-10 weeks only, so try to eat rich food, without getting second thoughts. And I'm sure u'll get a very nice chubby baby.

So don't worry about anything now and take good care of urself.

Hi Vaishali, sorry to hear about your BP. I know it is stressful regarding the baby size but the last few weeks is the time the baby gains fat and you will get bigger too! So just indulge urself by eating more than u normally would. Read recently that we need extra 300 calories a day in last 8 weeks. U can eat pasta, rice, bread, ice creams, yogurts, full cream milk etc to add on more carbohydrates and fat to your diet. Just watch out on too much sugar in ur diet and i'm sure u will gain good amt of weight real soon. Some women gain weight first and others gain suddenly in the end. So be positive, keep ur feet up and enjoy eating!
