Hi,
I was using Gohnson & gohnson baby soap for my kid from birth but after 11 days, he got rashes on face and neck and doctor advised to stop using the soap and use another alternative. I started with Himalayas baby soap but the rashes appear now and then.He is 6 months old and still got the same problem. Also his skin color is uneven. His face is bright but the rest of the body is dark and rough.Could someone suggest any good soap or alternative to use for bathing him?????

Hi Sri,
You need to say what type of soap is better to use for babies because their skin would be so soft and smooth and then it must be handled very carefully also i hope you would revert back also.

Johnson and Johnson products are banned due to some reasons.Hence usage of them is prohibited.Himalaya products are found really good ,its better you continue using them. They wont cause long term affects on the babies.

Hi,
We consulted a dermatologist and he told us that my kid has got Seborrhoeic dermatitis. He suggested oilatum soap and closone-G cream. He asked us to avoid oil, besan and any kind of flours and massages. We are using the same but it has resulted in white patches across his face and his cute face is now looking patchy.

Hi,
Thanks for your replies.I used gram flour and besan before also and they resulted in the same. Doctor advised for some medicated soap and it resulted in darkening of his skin. :(((
Let me use Dove...thanks again ...

you can use regular dove. it is perfectly safe for babies with all skin types.i tried j&j, pears and now I am using dove.In US and in some cities of india, baby dove and baby body wash are also available.

babies don't require powder said my ped so i didn't use it.Please avoid it.

But for my both the kids, dove worked.
i think if your baby is having sensitive skin and not dry skin then pears will work for him. but if your baby is having dry skin like my kids then dove is the best match !

why don't you ask your ped about it. he will answer you better once he looks at your baby skin problem.

Yes i too use Pears!

My baby also had problems with Johnson & Johnson products.
I was using its oil for massage, powder and soap.
The baby had allergy on her back looked like ringworm infection!

The skin specialist asked me to stop J&J products and use Pears.

My 5yr old kid wd scratch body all day. After all the research we finally ended up with Pears for her too.

i think J&J products doesnt suit some ppl. Pls consult your doc before changing to pears!

cheers
Roopa

I had the same issue with my son's skin. Even the home remedy of using greem gram dhal powder or besan resulted in the same. The following have worked well for him

- Pears
- Oilatum (available in most pharmacies)

But please check with doctor beforehand.

RE: Eczema concern
Hello,

I had a similar query a few months ago concerning eczema occuring in toddlers. As far as I know, it can be due to a varrying number of factors and common foods that end up causing the condition in 1-2 year old toddlers.

In my research I found this article really helpful in addressing the problem:
