Hi,
I tried pizza following the below recipe - it all went well but it was not like pizza hut types i mean the cheese didn' t melt.
recipe:
i took a pizza base
applied tamatosauce
spread chopped & steamed onion, capcicum, onion and mushroom (salt and black peeper mixed)
then i covered this with Pizza chease
pre-heat the oven at 250 C and then baked the pizza for 15 minutes at 250 C

Any idea - where i went wrong

I make pizza all the time at home and it turns out pretty fine.
Things I do:
Make my own pizza batter. Its very simple and easy
make my own sauce. you need to use italian herbs in it like rosemary, thyme etc. its like marinara sauce that I use for pasta as well.
No need to steam onions. Simply chop them and throw them.
cheese plays a big part in the taste just like the sauce.
I use 2 types of cheese - mozeralla (the one to be used for pizza)and lemon feta(for added flavor) ,yummmm.
Your pizza will rival that of restaurant ones.
im assuming you get all these ingredients where you live.

its a type of cheese and mostly available everywhere. its hard in texture and most of the times used in grated form. you can even buy the cheese cube and grate it at home.

hello..i like to experiment and i make pizzas sometimes. First thing is that its not plain tomato sauce that goes on the pizza base. its actually a pizza sauce. if you search on the net you will find the recipe for it. i hv got it handwritten and so difficult to type it out. another thing i usually use the grated cheddar cheese. now sometimes within the specified time, even when i make, the cheese doesn' t melt. then what i do is turn off the oven and put on the grill(heat from above) only for a minute or 2 just to melt the cheese and give it that brown colour. may be you can try this provided you have such a facility in your oven.
do search from the net and you will find the recipe to make the pizza sauce which gives it that unique taste. another thing, home-made pizza will have their own delicious taste even if they don' t taste like the ready-made ones. hope this helps.
