Name: Jaya Hi, my name is Jaya and I am due in November. I recently tested +ve in the 3 hr GTT and came to the internet looking for solace and information. Found this board (wish I had seen it earlier) and I think its a great one - Lots of useful information here and great vibes between all of you.

Good luck on this last trimester to all the moms....hope to be an active member of this group.

Welcome aboard. Glad to have u both too, to share all the experiences and concerns. Hope u r both enjoying ur pregnancies so far.

Oh BTW, I'm from Singapore and due on 26th Nov.
Jaya, pls don't worry about GD as it is very common for us Asian women to develop slight GD, but it goes off after u have delivered. So, just try to focus on eating healthy, to deliver a healthy baby.

Pranjal, U should be happy that, u'll get to hold ur baby a couple of weeks be4 u expected and that baby is in good health.

So, Enjoy urself and take care.

Welcome Aboard

Great to have two new members on the board. Welcome Jaya 2 and Pranjal!
I am due mid November but delivery two weeks before or after the due date is normal so don't fret early delivery Pranjal.
Jaya, GD should not hamper ur pregnancy, as it is quite common having it during pregnancy and then all settles down once the bundle of joy arrives. I cleared my GD but doc found blood trace in urine sample yesterday so will know in a week's time what is happening inside there. Alarming but keeping calm and thinking positive!
Eat healthy diet and refer to other mails on the board as few of us are on the same boat as you.

Hi, i am also new here.due on 24 november...but doc says early delivery is possible (i.e early november)due to good growth of baby...is this normal ? is there anyone in the same boat ?
Also want to know what should i take in bag for hospital before leaving for delivery ? This is my firt time.pls help..!

Hi Pranjal,

Welcome aboard. Looks like today is a good day for this board, we are getting lot of new members.

Regarding what to pack for the hospital, Arshiya has uploaded a document called 'What to Pack for the Hospital' in yahoo briefcase. Please refer to it. Log into yahoo as november_moms with password novembermoms and click on Briefcase. It's under the NovemberMOms/Files folder.

As for the size of the baby, there's a message chain(37 weeks measure 40 weeks doc sending me US worrie) going on in the October board. Please refer to it. Based on those comments, I would say not to worry. Hope you have another U/S and everything is resolved. Sometimes, the fundal height might be misleading.

I would prefer calling you Jay or JayaII and wouldn't want to associate GD with your name. Where are you from, may be we can add your place at the end.

Sorry to hear about your GD. Our own board members are dealing with this too and I hope you are coping well with the dietary changes.

When are you due? I am due on 26th of Nov with a girl.

My m-i-l might come

Hi Jaya,

I used to live in Sunnyvale before, I like that place. Yes, it would've been a long commute if you had accepted the project. I don't think it would've been good at this time.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that though I've gained that much, my tummy looks really small. No one believes that I am almost in my 8th month. Like you said, the only comforting thing is the baby's activity inside. I hope everything is fine.

My mom is not coming, but my m-i-l might come(not 100% sure as she is not feeling that well). We are yet to send the papers, probably will be doing so by next week. Glad to hear that your mom would be here next month.

Wow, you've already decided what to buy. Making a decision is tougher than shopping. Even I am leaning towards a travel system. Yes, October will definitely fly by. I can't wait for November.

In Santa Clara

Hi Vindhya

I live in Santa Clara near San Jose. I know the Oakland area - got a project there but turned it down as it would have been a long commute for me, especially at this time.

I had gained 18 pounds and then lost 3 - I think I was pretty tensed about my GD. I feel my tummy hasn't grown in these past 3 weeks. But the baby is active - so its comforting.

We went to BabiesRUs a couple of times and I've decided on the Metrolite Graco travel system. I need to decide on a crib. I will start serious shopping next month. October is gonna be pretty busy with my childbirth classes and shopping.

Anyone from home coming down for your delivery? My Mom will be here next month if all goes well with her visa.

Bay Area? Me too...

Hi Jaya,

I live in Alameda, which is next to Oakland. Yes, we are almost due at the same time. Baby's gender is going to be a surprise, should be very exciting.

I am glad that you didn't have to make any changes to your diet. Did you have the 3-hr test, I guess GTT is 3-hrs. Sometimes the 1-hr test is not very conclusive.

Regarding my pregnancy, so far so good. I have put on a lot of weight, nearly 30 pounds. I don't know how I am going to lose that many pounds and I still have two more months to gain even more.

Have you started shopping?

I live in Bay area, California. I am due on Nov 28th - don't know if I'm having a boy/girl.....wanted something to keep me going till the end ;)

I was doing pretty good until this GD came up. But my daily BS levels are fine with my existing diet - did not make any drastic changes. So I'm pretty confused why I failed the GTT !! But no complaints as long as the baby is doing well.

Looks like we're both due around the same time....hope everything is going on well with your pregnancy.
