Due Date Club January 2006:Hi Archie...can u advise me?

Hi,

I guess daily u are swamped with so many posts, no wonder my query is lost here :-) I had a question regd the position of my baby and so am re-posting it again.

Had a doc's check up last week. Am in 36th week btw. Everything is fine with the heart beat n stuff. I was also was tested for Group B strep(GBS).

But when the doc performed a quick ultrasound to check the postion , we found the baby is still breeched. Doc said that if this position continues for a couple of more weeks...he suggested that he can do \";External Versioning\";. He however warned us abt the risks involved thru this, such as cord rupture etc. He also mentioned that folks who dint want this went for a C.

Acc to him we can register for a C-section and have it anytime, just incase the baby is still breeched and we dont wanna try the Versioning method.

We, on the other hand are planning to wait for a couple of more weeks and then think abt it.

What dya suggest? I have another appointment in a couple of days..will update u on that soon.

Take care & Happy new year to u..!!

no I did not miss but I avoided on purpose. I did not wanted to contradict your Drs. opinion.
If you are in 36th week and baby remains breech for next one more week there is very little chance for baby to turn head down. But again each pregnancy and baby is different so can't say much on.

cervix thinning does not mean anything. it only means body is working on big day but can't say how far.

You should read post by Sushma, she had similar concern and we have had discussion on it. you may benefit with that discussion rather than me putting thoughts again on external versioning.

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.

Ear piercing
My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.
