Our son Aryan who is 4 days old now does not eat while breast feeding. He feels so comfertable that he falls sleep on any position and no matter what time of a day. We are worried that he is not getting enough food so we give him 2 ounce of formula every night.

Do anyone knows what can we do so he can eat during brest feeding or is this normal? priya replied. hio
nice name aryan!my son pranav did the same thing.he is 6 m old now.i used to put him on the floor or bed as soona s he fell asleep and since the bed was cold(it was winter) he would get up at once and feed again.i never supplemented with formula even thought i thought i should and i did the right thing coz he gained wt and ht so fast on braestmilk.So dont worry -thats the norm with babies!best of luck! priya replied. hio

Ummm guess what my baby does the same today she is 22 days, still having probs with feeding, so i formula feed her, but still keep trying. My P'ed told me to make the baby in a bit umcomfortable side, like remove the sheets covering ur baby, leaving him only in t-shirts. also try and tickle him..hope it works for u Nita replied. This is perfectly normal, My daughter is 6 months old now, she used to sleep 20-22 hrs a day in her first month, She was completely on brest milk, I dont hink you have to supliment it with formulla. As soon as your son stops sucking, tickle his ears, or bolw air softly on his head. Let him feed atleast for 15-20 mins and then you can relax and let him sleep. 20 mins feed should be sufficient for 2-3 hrs altelast.
