Hi Shazia,
as everyone told better late than never. My mom told the calcium we r taking is for us to become strong while we r pregnant and also after pregnant and at the same time she told me don't depend only on supplements take the vitamin enriched food. I hope u r drinking milk and eating properly so don't worry . But even then try to take these tablets good for both of u. Ask the doc now a days in US chocolate coated multivitamins are available if those r available in kuwait its easy for u.
Some how I'm relieved after reding u r dropping the idea of fasting.
house work+ daughter+ one more baby +fasting I thought Oh! god
Now I'm kind of relieved.
Take care
Lots of hugs to your daughter!

my OB/GYN here has prescribed prenatal vitamins rite frm day 1 of my preg.n thats wot ive been takin everyday one pill.it contains folic acid n all othr reqird supplemnts like iron , calcium, etc.

how bout chkin with yr GYN bout the medication before u start takin these meds.may be she ll prescribe a better product knowin that u were not regular with yr medicines.

n yes dont worry bout not bein regular with yr pills.as deepti said, the baby draws all the necessary nutrients frm the mothers body n these supplemnts r given to replenish the mothers resource.so im sure yr baby has been doin his/her job pretty well.

relax n consult yr GYN.

take care

Hi Shazia,

Folic acid- i think dont worry now. My doc stopped that after abt 4 months. I ahve not been having that since then.

Calcium - I think you can start taking now. I take it twice a day. Multivitamins also i guess follow the same...

I guess these are just supplements, if you have been taking good diet then you dont have to worry. What i have heard is that the baby will take all necessary stuff from the mothers body. These medicines are to replenish the mothers resources.

Anyways, take care. On safer side ask doctor. And as you mentioned that you will be fasting for one whole month, its would be advisable to take the medicines.

Take care,
Deepti.

Hi Deepti,

I was a bit scared when i was told that i must take these medicines in the 2nd month and if i dint then its not good for the baby.

But now i will do as u said i'll start on calcium and multivitamins.
U r right its better to have start its not too late.

What a relief. I was very scared cos i dint want to do anything that would harm the baby.

About fasting i think i'll just drop the plan. I wont be able to handle it with work and my daughter's studies oh gosh . U wont believe she i sin 1st standard and she has a lot to study. arabic, hindi , english, evs and what not.

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
