Due Date Club August 2008:Hungry
2008-01-29
Name: Soma

Hi, I' m so hungry all the time. At in every two hours I have to eat, that too little heavy food, otherwise i feel nauseated. Light foods like fruits, crackers aren' t working with me. I have to eat something heavy. I have also gained 8lb since my conception and I' m in my 11th week.
I' m worrying I' ll be gaining a lot of weight with this pregnancy.
What are some feeling food that I can take and no gain so much weight. I' m already on fat free diet.

hi soma,
even i m in my 11th week now n have put on 2kgs since conception but cant help it like you even i have been eating every two hours ...my Dr suggested me its ok but jst to keep away from fries ..rest i m not concerned b' coz i m alone n when ever i feel hungry i dont hv any option so at tht moment wht ever i get i eat ,,,more over its true jst by cracker or a fruit even i m not full ...sometimes i used to get so frustrated eating all time ...but u cant starve the babay ..n cant help with weight gain ...infact some times i used to cook extra lunch n keep and eat after two hr its better than eating junk . or use to cook extra rice nkeep n jst add vegies in it n cook like fried rice or an extra chapati use to eat with curd ...its better than eatingcracker n keep u full for 2 hrs more ..dont worry abt weight gain ...this all will last until ur 14th week has passed ...

Well 8lb in the 11th week is a bit more however i still wud like to advise go slow with the wieght gain. Ur placenta is just formed and next week onwards only ur baby is gonig to feed on food u intake, hence all the weight gain at the moment is ur and not the baby' s.
I too feel hungry for homemade food rather than the shelf packs, they jsut don' t satisfy me that much. Good u have opted for low fat options, continue doing so as it is wise.
Good to eat heavy food but don' t stuff ur self all teh time, have more fluids and even the heavy food shud be low in calories. Avoid fried, instead go for raosted and boiled. If u feel like having hot and a bit spicy food as i do, opt for soups, tomato or spinach, they are very nutritious and will sure help ur baby grow healthy.
