Vegetarian Food:How to make Pithla?

Friends please tell me simple receipe of making pithla from besan, lasoon and preferably pala/methi.

I m married to north indian and desparately missing marathi food :( its been so long now, the pithla is just not coming the way it used to ...

Its very very simple. Cut onions and fry with usual bhagar of rai , jeera, hing , turmeric powder. Add about a glass or half of water. When it comes to boil add salt, mirchi powder and then go on sprinkling besan and stirring continously with other hand , so as to avoid lumps. If u wamnt thick pithala add more besan till it solidifies. Sprinkle a little water so the lumps are not formed and close with a lid for a few minutes, add few drops of ghee(if required) and thats it.
You can add lasoon pieces when during frying onions, u can add methi or any pala say muli leaves etc during the same time. Adding curry leaves gives a nice taste.

hey Swati,
Thanks a lot i was looking for this recipe since longer, I am expecting my first baby n i had no idea how to make this as i was visiting the kitchen only for eating before marriage.
Now I will be able to make PITHALA... gr8.. thanks again will try it today.

Kanda zunka is same as pithala but with more kanda and less water more of besan the drier version.
