Infertility Solutions:Fertility injections

Could someone reply? How long before egg harvesting does one have to take the injections for increasing the number of eggs? How many injections, and what time of the month in relation to period?
Can any doctor give these injections or something more involved? Do I have to undergo any tests before doing this?

I am assuming that you are asking about IVF? From what I have been told some patients here in Canada start BCP (Birth Control Pills) and Suppression injections for a period of time then begin fertility shots while taking the suppression injections. Once your follicles have reached maturity, they will be harvested..then your partner's sperm will be added to it. Once fertilization has occured the fertilized embryos will be implanted into your uterus. It is hard to advise on the timing as it all depends on how your follicles respond to the fertility shots.

You and your partner would need to have a series of testing done prior to moving to IVF, and depending on what course of action is needed your doctor will prescribe the medication to you. It is best for you to see an RE - Reproductive Endocrinologist.

I wish you all the best....
