Dear Hetal,
I am a new member to this discussion forum and I want to tell you how much I appreciate your efforts for all the help and advice given to mothers with various questions regarding their baby' s health and development. You have 2 children and still you take the time to answer various questions. Kudos to you, Hetal.
Hetal can you help me out here?
I have a 13 month old baby girl. Her birth weight was 3.25 Kgs. Until the 6 month she gained weight steadily but after that her weight gain is very slow. Now at 13 months she weighs only 7.5 Kgs.
Her diet schedule is as follows:
7am BM
8:30am--Breakfast--Oat porridge/nachni with milk/cornflakes in milk/french toast.
11:00--Mid morning--50ml milk mixed with little cerelac
11:30-12:30--Nap (somedays its a 30-45 min nap)
1:00pm--Lunch--Rice+dried beans usal/Rice + chicken and veggies/ Pasta in thick gravy/(ending with 1/2 slice of mango or 1/2 banana or 1 slice of apple)
3:pm--50ml milk with little cerelac
3:15-4:00pm--Nap
4:30pm--Snack--Bread/Rice pudding,biscuits in milk
7:00pm--Fruit
8:00pm--Dinner--Same as lunch + fruit
10:00pm--BM--Sleep

** Cows milk for breakfast,and snack = 320ml
** In addition to her breakfast of porridge I try to give her jam/butter and bread but she just eats very little.
** I give 6 morsels of food by hand and then grind up the remaining and feed by spoon.
** At lunch after eating the 6 morsels in the highchair, she gets restless and ends up walking around and eating the remaining ground food.
** At dinner she eats the 6 morsels and then absolutely refuses to eat any more.
** She refuses to drink milk before going to sleep at night and she gets up 3 times at night for BM.
** I have tried various fruit juices, milk with bournvita etc, but she just takes one sip and flatly refuses to drink any more.
** She doesnt drink milk from the bottle only the sippy cup.
** Please can you guide me as to how to get her to drink juice, more milk (esp before nighttime). Is 320ml (in puddings etc)+ 50ml midmorn and sometimes in the evening enough?
**She is very active and walking all by herself now.
**Her ped has advised 2ml of calcium supplement and 8 drops of iron daily.
** I am a working mom and have a full time maid.

Thank you for your time.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
