Hearty Congrats.I request u to give me advice for baby boy. he was born in 35 weeks with birth weight of 2.48kgs. he is now 5 months & 6.2kgs.from birth he vomits a lot,doc says that its normal and will be reduced after starting solids.
he is on breast feeding. now since 1 week he is not taking milk but still active. is it the correct time to start solids as he is not taking milk? when to start solids? he passes bowels once in 3 days.what solids shall i start plz advice?

i have a 4.5 month old baby boy. At his last vist to doctor we discused abut his starting solids.

firstly let me tell you, my son' s appetite had drastically come down in his 3rd month also he was having a bowel movement every 6 days(u can very well imagine). The doctor said he was anemic...i am also anemic...hence he started him on iron supplement. Now his appetite has got better and moreover he is having a bowel movement almost daily(initally on starting iron he had constipation).

Now for starting solids...
my doc had said that to start solid he wuld be more happy when my son' s bowel movements are better...
secondly he shuld be drinking enuf milk.
he is doing both and hence my doctor has said we wuld be starting him on solids when he turns 5 months old.

introducing solids seems to eliminate a host of problems...reflux, gas and what not. i am also eager to start him on solids. In ur case, i suggest you talk to doctor. BTW how do you know that your son is drinking less milk. i guess he is on breast milk?
