Hi anahat,
I live in bay area and I am a north Indian. Now it is your turn to tell me something about you {if you don't mind ;)}.
My first U/S was done in 8th week. On the screen my doc. pointed out at the baby...at that time the fetus was so small that I couln't see anything except his flickering heart and his tiny body. But later when my 2nd U/S was done I was able to see the baby playing in my womb. The radiologist gave me the picture of his profile. However, I don't wanna disappoint you about the first U/S, because when I saw my baby for the first time, it was quite an amazing experience in itself. My husband and I startes to feel more bonded and attached to the baby.
Here is a little advice for you, don't get crazy because from now on, you are going to experience a new thing on every visit to your doctor. So take a deep breath and enjoy this wonderful time of your life :)
I am happy to know that you know so many successful people who were born in Jan 3rd. We all expect our babies to become suceesful in their lives...aren't we!
That's it for now, take care.

Hi lyb,
I'm from New Delhi. I live in Chicago but we are in the process of relocating to NJ these days. When we discovered that we r expecting then we decided to try to spend the first trimester here coz the doctors are known etc. My dh leaves today for NJ. My first U.S (7weeks)and apptmt. is coming up and after that we hope to be clearer abt the baby's development. 7 weeks seems a bit too early to me- what do u think? The u.s. and the follow up with the doc will determine when i will move to NJ. I don't like the idea of going to a new place finding a new doctor etc but there is not much i can do... i hope we can see something in the u.s.
Did u go to india in ur 2nd trimester? I'm thinking of doing that but it all depends on the baby's mood ;)
Best wishes to u and ur lil one :)

Hi anahat,
How are you? We didn't go to India during the 2nd trimester. My husband wanted to go very badly but I wasn't in the mood thinking about all the complications that I could get afterwards. I am planning to go to India for Holi as everybody will be able to see the new born baby. Many people travel during the 2nd trimester though. If you have plans and your body allows it then go for it.
When was your first appointment with your doctor? Mine was at the 8th week and at that time my doc. did the u/s. At 7-8th week body parts does not develop. At this stage U/S is done for two reasons, just to make sure if baby is there or not, and to check if the fetus is attached to the uterus at the correct place or not (This is called ectopic pregnancy).
Don't lift any heavy item when you move to NJ. Wish you all the best for the U/S, new place, and the new Doc. Let me know how your appointment goes :). Take care.

Kidney
Hello:
My 20 week ultrasound also showed an enlarged kidney. The good news is that since it is only one side, chances are that he will \";grow out of it\"; and if there's a problem it will resolve itself. I would suggest going back in 4 weeks from when you had the first to see if the kidney is of normal proportion. I went back for the next one, and the ultrasoun... - CNoel [View Message]

just an advice
Hey Kavita,

I'd say you get the ultrasound done so you will be able to see what is going on. Vaginal ultrasound is a good idea too.

Take care,
