My son 26 days old had jaundice as per the Doctor's opinion. The paediatrician said this is common in almost most of the new borns and nothing to worry about it and it would be alright by 28 days.

During these days some times the urine was slight yellow in colour and the napkin one or two in a week used to be yellow.

Now this has changed. His motion is golden yellow colour. some times it stains the napkin and the napkin is yellow in colour.

I am much worried about his health.

He is active,he passes 10 to 15 urines per day. Feeding is done at every 2 1/2 hrs or 3 hrs as he feels hungry.

along with breast feeding he is fed with Dulac 1st step.

How long will this yellow stain be. I am much worried about him. When will it change.

Please advice me in this regard.

everyone blood contains bilirubin, which is often removed by the liver. Before birth, the mother’s liver does this for her baby. most babies develop jaundice in the first few days after birth because it takes a few days for the baby’s liver to get better at removing bilirubin.
its not only stool colour but also the skin of baby usually appears yellow. however if the jaundice is not that severe, it might not show on skin.
most infants have mild jaundice that is harmless, but in unusual situations the bilirubin level can get very high and might cause brain damage.
this is expected to happen if the recovery does not happen as predicted by your ped. so by next 2 days,which is i think today itself,, if your baby is still showing the stains or yellowish stools, its better to take him to dr.breastfeeding often helps babiees to recoverr better.so make sure you feed him well. If you are breastfeeding, you should nurse your baby at least 8 to 12 times a day,,which means every 2 hours mostly.if you are feeding formula as well,these stains should not lasts longer.
contact your dr immediately.

I could not breast feed by baby. The milk secretion is very very poor. I am giving him DULAC (STEP 1) as per the paediatrician's advice. On the 2nd day of delivery I was given Tab Lactare. I had taken 30 tablets ( 2 tablets thrice daily). But no good results. I am hardly getting a teaspoonfull of milk. My baby cries for milk. I could hardly feed him 2/3 times also withis meagre amount of secretion. So, I had to rely upon dulac for my baby's appetite. I have taken nutralite (Amway product) also. But still no good results. It is already 30 days over. I am much worried and upset. I am so much eager to feed my baby. But I could feed him hardly twice a day with these drops of milk. My baby sucks only for 5 minutes and he pushes away and starts crying because the secretion is not there. (secretion is in drops only)Sometimes immediately after my baby sucking I have a burning sensation in my nipples which is unbearable (I am advised to used nip care ointment)

As the days goes on will the secretion reduce. Or is there any chance of improving the milk secretion even now.

Please advice. What should I do.

During pregnancy (in the a6thmonth) I had taken mothers horlicks. After some days I developed rashed in the nipples and glands and slight watery secretion was there. Dr. prescribed FLUCORT - H ointment. After some days it got healed.

Can this be the reason for the above problem I am facing.

Please advice me in details what to do and what not to do in this regard.
