My 11 month old son has been havin cold off and on. He seems to be getting in every second week and this has been happening for about 3 times in a row now. This time, it's quite bad, i took him to a doc the rpevious time and he prescribed some medicines and cough syrups. This time everytime he coughs he brings up everything he has eaten. I am very worried about him, i am given to understand that babies of his age tend to fall sick often, but that doesnt stop me from worrying and i cannot see him suffer. Besides the medicine that has been prescribed is not sweet, so he tends to bring it out eveytime.
Has anyone experienced something like this, i would be very glad if anyone could tell me some home remedies that can cure my son.

Hi,

My son had the same problem(Cold) 2 weeks before and still he is recovering.First 2 days were horrible he was vomitting everything we fed him and coughing very badly.We took him to doctor.She gave a cough syrup and Suspension powder which has to be dissolved in water(antibiotics).

Whenver her coughs he used to vomit everything including medicine.So we used to give him very little formula(half of the amount he normally takes).That also we will feed him little bit and wait for 5 mins let him burp then again feed him like that.Feed ur baby little in frequent interwals.Also he stopped taking solids.So we gave only milk for first two days.

While giving medicines mix it with hot water or milk whichevr he prefers.Give him little bit hot water just after taking medicines.Don't feed him right after taking medicines or don't give him medicines just after taking feed.Give him little quantity of feeding(so that his stomach will not empty) and wait for 10 mins.Then give him medicines(mixed with small amount of hot water or milk) and then wait for 20 mins.then feed him again little quantity so that he will not throw up.

Again this is my personal experience , but i don't know whether this works out for u.But y ou can try this for a day and see.

If vomitting is very severe ur kid may be dehydrated.So keep an eye on that view and consult ur doctor.also if cold is recurring then u can ask ur doctor whether it's bcoz of any allergy.

Steaming is the best home treatment i have seen.It has helped my kid to get that mucus out.U can also try that.
