Due Date Club January 2006:To Archie.....some queries
2005-12-20
Name: Shanthi

Hi archie and others,

Am in 34th week, will be entering 35th in a couple of days.

Query 1: I have been having some pain in my pubic bone from a couple of days. Therez some pain in the region where the hips meet n buttocks too sometimes. Yesterday it was bad, I guess coz I walked a lot. But it comes n goes. Like today morning, it was hardly hurting.

But wenever its there, i have a trouble getting up, tosssing n turning over while sleeping or while walking sometimes. Its very uncomfortable!! I tried some ice packs and it gives me a temporary relief. Is it OK to apply some kinda balm/cream there..? Could u tell me whats the reason and what i should do?

Query 2: Also, i started feeling BHC more than once daily...like say in the morning and again in the late evenings. Does this signify that am approaching \";the date\";?

Query 3: Am still unclear on this one - From when should one be prepared for the labor...is it after 36 weeks or 40 weeks?? I understand completion of 36 weeks constitutes a full-term baby. But in most of the cases, the delivery happens a way before the due date. Also, a few of my frenz say, coz its the first baby...delivery can happen a lil late. Could u clarify this for me, plzzz?

Thanks!

1. It's normal to have pain in pubic bone or vaginal twitching. YOu can confirm from your OB. It's the way your body is getting ready for big day.

2. no it does not specify anyting. YOu should have them it will help effacing cervix and easy dilation.

3. delivery anytime after 36 week is good. No one can say should it be in 37th or 40th week. By and large most happens between 38th and 42nd week.

Hi Shanthi,
i think you have been experiencing back pain due to wait gain. One of my friend is also experiencing same problem. After delivery you will be ok. According to m knowledge its not a labor pain. take rest.don,t sit in the same position for long time. try to laid down in the
afternoons, if it is possible to you.
take care

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.

Ear piercing
My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.
