Due Date Club January 2006:Baby turned...........update Archie

Hi Archie,
I guess, you remember that yesterday afternoon I was scheduled for versioning. From yesterday morning, I have been noticing some difference in the baby movements but not sure. So, we went to the hospital in the afternoon and they hooked me to the monitor & IV and when my OB came to check the baby......the baby's head is down. So he didn't do anything and we came back home happily. I hope the baby stays there without turning again.
And my doc said that my cervix is not soft & not open. Do I have to take any precautions from my side to keep the baby in this position and it's head engaged ???? Any tips for the baby's head to be engaged and cervix to ripen Archie ???
I have GD and they said that my baby is already 6pounds at 35.4weeks. Is this going to be a big baby Archie ??? I have been walking twice for 20mins for 4 days in a week. Is this enough???
Waiting for your valuable comments Archie. And a Big Thanks in Adv.
Sushma.

Hi Archie,Cha,Shanthi
Thanks for your comments.
Yes, I felt happy and it releived our
tension. We never know what happens....all God's grace.
Are you doing any exercises like squatting, tailor positions to help the baby descend ?

Hi Sushma,

I'm very happy that the baby turned around, even before the versioning. = ) What a relief, right?

During my first pregnancy my doc said my cervix was not open at every appointment...I even went one week past my due date. In fact, she wanted to schedule me for a c-section but I told her I would not allow it until the last possible moment (I've read that due dates can be off give or take 2 weeks). Well, he arrived on his own, so I didn't need to sched. c-section. Also, he was 8 pounds 9 ounces. My second boy was 9 pounds 9 ounces. Big babies are not always a problem. = ) In fact, my sister always tells me that she believes big babies sleep better because they can hold more food and not get so hungry during the night...both of my slept mostly through the nights from very early on.

What has your doctor advised with your GD and your delivery date?

All the best!

Cha = )

Hi Sush...

Am in 34th week. My ultrasound report in 33rd week told me..my baby was in breech postion. But a week later, wen my doc checked me .. the baby was turned. So i guess babies inside constantly keep moving and we cannot do anything abt it, but just to \";hope\"; that during labor.. its not breeched.

Its also a good idea to b \";prepared\"; for whatever be the case. Though C-section sounds like a big deal, in reality its the easiest. Ofcourse the main aim is for a normal always. Thats why its nice to be aware of different things, so that we are mentally prepared.

Take care then..!

Sushma,
I am glad that baby turned. I suspected that yesterday itself from your message.
You can follow tips. I have mentioned them in my posts, won't repeat here again. Please go through labor, chances of C-section and managing postdate posts by me.
you don't have to do antying to keep baby there, it will automatically happen.
Good luck
Archie

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.

Ear piercing
My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.
