Sleeping:Why does my 6-month old not sleep early?

I have a terrible problem in putting my kid to sleep. He just does not respond, despite the fact that he wakes up so early. Please help friends, mothers with similar worries?

I have been troubled by my kid for over a year. He just used to drink milk and play around. And the doctor just did not have any solution to this. Then one fine day, things changed and he started sleeping around 11.30. So dear friend, you have to just wait for the right sleeping pattern. And at the most you can turn off the lights and be on the bed. But otherwise, there is no defenite solution.

Dear friend, I think you have going thru what I did some seven years ago. The solution is that you have to just set up a routine whereby you take the child to the bed at a particular fixed timing. No TV, no lights. Slowly, he will get used to the routine.

There might be several reasons for this. It would be helpful to review your childs daily routine. Is he/she taking frequent naps during the daytime? Is there a schedule for the baby? Sometimes it helps to have a routine which lets him/her know when bedtime arrives. Soft music, low lights, a gentle massage, reading a book, any of these might work with your baby close to bedtime. The key factor is to develop a routine and to stick with it. Good luck.

If your child is taking afternoon naps, however relieving they may be to your schedule, discourage him. It is one of the factors for sleeping late.

hi friend, going throyour problem I find that both of us are in the same boat. You know for the last one year I never can tell you of a single night when I had an undisturbed sleep.I have tried all possible ways like giving him a light shower before bedtime, feeding him properly so that he doesnt feel hungry at night but nothing worked out.So as told by one of our friends we have no other way but to wait for good day ahead and simply hoping that its not a far cry.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
