I have a query about sugars. I had GDM in my first pregnancy and so thought of monitoring sugars from early on this time. I am noticing that some foods like rice and burgers/fries make my sugars shoot up (reading are generally 8.2 - 8.5 in mmol/l) after 2 hours if I eat any of these. But in most websites it is mentioned that GDM only starts in third trimester.

Could I be checking too early. Most of the time becos of this I am not sure what and how much to eat. My hubby says I seem to be losing weight bcos of food control. Please tell me what you think. I am in my 11th week now.

enjoy pregnancy for first two trimester. May be you can test yourself for GD in or around 24 weeks not today.

Whether you are loosing weightyou will know that from yoru OB visits. also might be due to some morningsickness that you might be going through
