This is in continuation to what you asked....1.I will get myself checked on my postpartum checkup, which might be after 1-2 weeks.
2.I have tried breaking the latch and then offering her the sec breast but of no use..she will sleep then too. But could you tell me how longer one should let the baby drink from one side n then offer the other?? May be I am offering her one too long that makes her sleep. After drinking from one she sleeps and then approx after 1.5-2 hrs she takes the other side.
I was told in hospital that baby are tired becoz of jaundice so they don’t drink and keep sleeping…..and that’s yy they don’t gain wt.
My baby is exclusively breast fed ( except some formula for 2-3 days during the days of phototherapy in order to avoid infusion) and here I am writing you the wt gain. and the dates we measured the wt.
She was born on 6th dec . 3080 g then she lost the wt as usual and was 2800 g.
After phototherapy and after coming to home on 15th my midwife took her wt on 16th then she was 2960g
On 18th 3040g
On 20th 3140
On 27th 3520
We were told that a gain of 100-150 gm in a week is the average and with a gap of one week she gained 300g.
Now we will get her wt on 9th Jan.
Neither colic or refluxes are the problem…
And her bowels are yellow chunky..Is it o.k???? I couldn’t understand about the bowel being yellow in that post…
3.I had gestational diab but I somehow managed without insulin….I will certainly talk to my Gyn about this..as age factor counts too!!
4. You wrote babys should be fed on demand or by waking them up upto 2 months…and what about the time 3rd month onward….how should one procced????

Reply : the time depds on your milk supply,,you can try approx 10min and give him burp,,thn switch the side,,applies to both the breast,,this might help prevent his sleepng off just aftr the feed of one side..
if he is doing it only like once a while,,its ok otherwise make sure to offer both the breast...whnever he misses to other one,,pump from that side just aftr or during the feeds of one side and it willhelp you maintain a good supply..also continuous suction and pumping wil help you get a good supply in longer run on other side...it will help.

about jaundice..yes ne baby which is not born at normal conditions,its quite obvious for him to get fatigue and so sleep more oftn,,but that should not stop him from feeding ! make sure to feed him well.its like you are makng them fast jst because they were too tired to drink,,,its not advsable to do so at this age,,not until your baby completes 2months.
her wght gain looks good to me,,and unless otherwise he has shown ne other complicatn which is not seen to me in this pst,,she has pickedup well and has recoverd.
until first 6months of baby life,,thr gwth rate is accleratd grwth rate.its thn it mostly goes to half of it and thn it oftn comes to constant or a nominal rate,,once after 9months,,no worries...
yellow seedy bowels are normal, but colour of yellow is quite difficult to explain on internet,,this being a virtual media,,,do one thing,,at your visit,,show the diaper to your dr,,and ask him whther or not,,the yellow intensity of colour has nething to do with jaundice,,it will answer the question,,thn my explaining you the intensity of yellow colour in bowels !

3.yes,, age factr does count,,make sure to plan it well along with your gyn consultation,,,,i will guide to my best i can regardng diet per month and other issues,,,,if nething is required from my side..good luck for that.

4. after 2months,,at night,,stop REDUCING the feeds and continue feeds in daytime,,and after 6months onwards,,stop the night feeds totally,,so that your baby is ready for solids..until thn enjoy breastfeeding in day and night time!
howver, if your baby seems to be hungry at night,,dont mind offerng bm or feeds at night,,but on demand,,,and if he seems to be sleepng good,,dont disturb him,,after 3months of completn...
